I, Erika Gottsegen grew up in Stockholm, Sweden.

After high school I left Sweden for 2 1/2 years to study Fashion Economics and Marketing in Montreal, Canada, where I received a ‘Diplome Etudes Collegial’. Upon my  return to Sweden, I worked with Marketing and PR for a celebrated Swedish Couture and eveningwear designer, Lars Wallin, among other Fashion Related assignments.

The desire to live and work in New York City brought me back to the US and in 2000, I completed a Bachelor Degree (BBA) in International Business at Northwood University in Palm Beach, FL.  I then moved to New York City, where I  worked with Marketing and Sales within the display and printing industry, offering Visual Solutions mainly to clients within the Cosmetic and Liquor industries.

After moving from NYC to Wellington Fl with my husband Josh and three children (Katarina now  11, Sofia 8 and Max 5), I developed an interest in landscape design and the subtropical flora, and pursued my interest in Horticulture receiving a certificate as ‘Landscape and Horticulture Specialist’ from Palm Beach State College. This ultimately lead to my interest in Landscape Architecture.

During my time in the Master program or Landscape Architecture + Urban and Environmental design, I have completed an internship with Palm Beach County Parks &

Recreation under Landscape Architect Casey Pranckun, and for Studio Rovira.

I graduated in May 2017 with a 3.95 GPA, and received Three awards;

Master Project Award for 'Regenerative Strategies, Arroyo, Puerto Rico' (one out of two),

'Design Excellence Award' (one of one) and an ASLA award 'Reward of Merit ' (one of 2).  I was also selected as one of two students nominated into the The Honor Society of Sigma Lambda Alpha (SLA), the only honor society in North America that exclusively recognizes scholarship in landscape architecture.

Currently, I work for 2GHO (Gentile, Glas, Holloway and O'Mahoney), a Landscape Architecture and Planning Firm in Jupiter, FL.
